Asfordby FC are getting back to the training ground

The recent changes in Government advice has opened up training in small groups, which means that five players, accompanied by one coach, can now train ready for next season.

Protocols have been put in place to abide by social distancing and health and safety advice.

A club statement read: “As the club is run as a registered charity it is their aim to provide sporting and social opportunities for all ages and backgrounds within the community, but the safety of those using the facilities is paramount. Being mindful of that we would ask that the club grounds are not used whilst our players are training so as to keep safety at a maximum.

“A lot of our young players were understandably very disappointed when last season came to an abrupt end especially after the awful winter we had hindered playing for everyone so to get them back will be brilliant.”

Asfordby have been granted some money from The Football Foundation towards pitches.
