Asfordby Eagles soar to tournament win
Asfordby Eagles Under 10s continued their fine pre-season form by clinching victory in the Loughborough Dynamo Summer Cup.
In hot and humid conditions, the players defended and attacked as a team and showed great determination against some good teams in their three group games to progress to the semi-finals.
Superb attacking play resulted in a comfortable semi-final win with all players showing great confidence and togetherness, and scoring two excellent team goals.
The final proved to be a tense affair with end-to-end football on show.
Once again, Asfordby’s defence and goalkeeper held firm, having conceded just one goal in the five games, and the final was won courtesy of a magnificent direct free-kick.
The tournament win was richly deserved and the team were rightly proud to be presented with the trophy.
