The Scalford pub team saw off Bottesford Cricket Club by nine games to four in a closer contest than the scoreline suggested.

Both teams showed a degree of nerves at the start of the match but settled down into a tight struggle with high scoring on both sides.

Paul Stevenson and Nigel Long both hit 180s for the Kings Arms who capped a good season which could put them in with a good shout of being named the most improved side.

The league’s Memorial Cup Final took place on the same evening at the Rose and Crown, in Hose, between The Nags Head, Harby, and the Bull Inn, Bottesford.

After a very close match, the Nags Head won by nine games to seven, Paul Dallaway hitting a maximum for the Bull.
