Village club enjoys best ever season

Players and officials at Queniborough BS CC are celebrating the best season in the club's history since it was formed in 1958.

The club ran 15 junior and adult teams this summer and enjoyed great success.

The juniors won two competitions with the Under 10s triumphing at the Loughborough Carillion Old Boys Festival for the second year running and the Under 11s winning the Incrediball County Cup final.

The Burrough League 1st team winning the Everards Burrough League Knock Out Cup and the club’s Grantham and Melton League 1st and 2nd teams taking the Golding Cup and Golding Shield, respectively.

The Sunday 1sts were also champions of the GMCA Premier Division title and the Sunday 2nds were Division 1 champions. They also won Division 3 playing as British Shoe Corporation.

In the Leicestershire and Rutland League, the 2nd XI finished runners up in Division 8 East, gaining promotion to Division 7.
