The Belvoir Cricket & Countryside Trust is posting weekly videos to help keep young players active and entertained during the coronavirus lockdown.

Each week a different skills challenge is set via its Facebook page with youngsters encouraged to record and send in their efforts.

The first video was viewed more than 1,000 times and some future ones will feature special guests from the professional game.

There is also a fun cricket-related activity to help parents who are home schooling.

Head coach Darren Bicknell said: “Normally at this time of year we would be introducing the game to hundreds and hundreds of children in primary schools and running out-of-school Kwik Cricket coaching sessions at seven venues in the area.

“This is a great way to keep youngsters engaged and developing their skills - be it batting, bowling, fielding or catching - safely at home.”
