Crosstown rivals Thorpe Arnold and Egerton Park will face off tomorrow (Friday) as the Salaman Cup final becomes a derby clash.

Cup holders Park did not have to break sweat to reach their second successive final when Oakham conceded their semi-final last Friday.

Thorpe, meanwhile, booked their place with a convincing all-round display against Belvoir the previous week.

Mark Carnell led the way with 31 as Thorpe batted first and made 129-6, with Myles Hickman (25) and Dom Exton (24) also adding valuable contributions.

Belvoir struggled to get going in reply as the fall of regular wickets halted their momentum.

Jack Berry did most of the work with a gutsy knock of 42, but his side could only muster 95-8 as Thorpe’s bowlers wrapped up a 34-run victory.

The final gets under way at Egerton Park at 6.15pm, weather permitting.

The pavilion bar will be open throughout.
