Barkby beaten inone-sided cup tie

ONCE again Barkby’s bowlers got little reward for their efforts.

Akhtar (122) and Mire put on 247 for the first wicket before Akhtar was caught behind by Troop off Drake for 122. Barkby’s only other success was the wicket of Mire for 105, stumped by Troop off Drake (2 for 58) as Stoughton finished on 294-2 off their 40 overs.

Barkby made a disastrous start tp their innings with Troop, Percy, Hendry, Wilkinson, Wood and Pook all dismissed with the Barkby total only on 22.

Pook (16) was the only early batsman to offer any resistance to the bowling of Franklin (6 for 13) with Cookson the only other batsman to reach double figures with 20 as Barkby were bowled out for 64.
