County president hosts gala event

Leicestershire Ladies' County Indoor Bowling Association's President Sue Lemon held her President's Day at Melton and District Indoor Bowls Club. A ladies' team drawn from all six clubs in the association played a mixed Melton side in a fun gala event, starting with an Easter bonnet parade.

A Spider was held before play commenced, while a large raffle, with donations from county and Melton players, raised £198.

Tricia Tamms, from Barwell Bowling Club, hand-knitted a MacScarecrow family which was separately raffled and raised £54.

In total the afternoon raised £402.50 for president Sue’s charity, the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation, supported by patron Claire Lomas.
