Adam scorches toMelton Olympiccourse record

MELTON Olympic Cycling Club’s latest midweek event was held on the Harby circuit.

Adam Gascoigne (Pedal Power) set a new course record, racing home in a time of 30min 45secs, while Melton Olympic’s Michelle Wright set a new ladies’ record in a time of 35.57.

The fastest club rider was Chris Walker in 32.48 followed by Norman Portess (33.34) and Alex Knott in 34.36.

* Four members of Melton Olympic Cycling Club competed in the Sherwood CC Open 25 on the A1 between Long Bennington and Carlton-on-Trent.

In very windy conditions, Norman Portess posted a time of 59min 17secs followed by Russell Gent (1hr 00min 32secs), Bryan Fenwick (1.05.19) and Jim Ithell (trike) – 1.14.37). Matt Sinclair won in 50.43
