Primavera Sound has revealed its line-up for 2021 - here's how to get tickets

Tickets for next year Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona are now available; passes for the four-day event went on sale at 11am BST on Wednesday 3 June.

The festival was just one of thousands affected by the global coronavirus pandemic, and unfortunately had to cancel its plans for a Summer 2020 bash.

“Whoever said that the second chances are never good did not imagine that we would experience something like what is happening this 2020,” said the Primavera organisers in a statement.

“With the whole world on pause due to the evolution of the global pandemic and with the live music sector holding its breath facing a summer without festivals, we can only look forward: towards 2021, specifically, the year in which we are going to recover everything that will be pending from 2020.”

Here’s everything you need to know:

Who’s on the line-up?

Anybody disappointed that they’d be missing their favourite acts and bands due to the cancellation of the 2020 edition of the festival needn’t worry.

The majority of the artists confirmed to perform this year have simply agreed to perform in 2021 instead, and much of the line-up remains unchanged from the festival’s original plans.

“The Primavera Sound Barcelona 2021 line-up feature a majority of artists who reconfirm their presence at the festival,” said festival organisers on social media, “as well as the occasional very special new addition.”

Bands and acts like The Strokes, Tame Impala, Gorillaz, FKA twigs, and Tyler, the Creator will take to the festivals stages next year, alongside names like Pavement (reforming for just two comeback shows), Jorja Smith, Beck, Caribou, Disclosure, Brockhampton, Iggy Pop, Bikini Kill, Idles, Mabel, The National, Rina Sawayama, and Jehnny Beth.

Organisers say these first 100 or so names are just a ”selection of artists”, and the full line-up “will be updated soon with new names.”

However, not every act booked to appear in 2020 will be returning in 2021;  Lana Del Rey is a notable absentee, as are Massive Attack.
