Woman taken to hospital after Melton collision involving tractor

Emergency services were alerted just after 3pm to the incident, which happened on Leicester Road, near the junction with Edendale Road.

Police officers, firefighters and a crew from East Midlands Ambulance Service were in attendance.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: “We were called at 3.05pm to reports of a collision involving a car and a tractor.

“A woman was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, for treatment.

“Her injuries were said to be not life-threatening or life-changing.”

The road was closed for a period while investigations were carried out at the scene.
