VIDEO: Dashcam captures horse and cart race on dual carriageway near Melton
A man has been captured on camera riding a horse in the fast lane of a dual carriageway near Melton, racing against another horse in the inside lane.
The footage – taken on a dashboard camera – has been watched hundreds of times on social media and shows a horse attached to a two-wheeled cart called a sulky, with a man in the seat of it, darting along the A46.
Mark Johnson, who captured the footage, said two horses were being raced against each other, one in the inside lane and the other in the outside, in the northbound carriageway on Sunday.
He said it happened about 9am between the junction for Six Hills and the exit for Asfordby and Wymeswold.
