UPDATE: Wilton Road re-opened after crash involving car and pedestrian
Wilton Road in Melton has re-opened following this afternoon's crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
As previously reported in the Melton Times the woman driver of a Nissan Micra and the male pedestrian were taken to hospital after the incident which happened just before 2pm.
Eyewitnesses described seeing the car mount the pavement, after the driver passed out, and clip the pedestrian before smashing into the side of the town’s Boyes store.
The condition of the driver and pedestrian, who were taken to hospital by road ambulance, weren’t known at the time of going to press.
