UPDATE: Driver in ‘critical but stable’ condition after B676 accident.

A MAN who was airlifted to hospital after an accident on the B676 on Friday remains in a critical but stable condition.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the single vehicle accident which happened on the B676 at Freeby just after 2.20pm.

The driver of a silver Skoda Octavia was taken to the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire with serious injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision to get in touch.

Detective Constable Ady Keeble, who is investigating the incident, said: “The Skoda was travelling westbound towards Melton when the collision occurred on a bend.

“We’d urge anyone who saw the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand to contact us. We’d also like to speak to the occupants of a silver or grey car we believe was travelling ahead of the Skoda before the collision occurred.”
