Man charged with drink driving following Melton town centre collision
A 50-year-old man has been charged with drink-driving following a collision in Melton town centre on Saturday night.
The incident, which happened around 10.20pm, resulted in police officers closing the road between the junctions with Ankle Hill and Sherrard Street.
Gary Spencer, of Brooklands Avenue, Wirksworth, Derbyshire, has been charged with driving while above the legal alcohol limit and driving without due care and attention.

Hide AdA spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “The collision involved three vehicles.
“One woman suffered minor injuries in the incident.
“Spencer has been released on unconditional bail and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday October 11.”
