The two-way lights will be installed on the A607 Leicester Road, close to the roundabout serving Edendale Road, from Monday March 29.

Leicestershire County Council has agreed to the safety measure while work is being done to alter the road for a new housing development.

A County Hall highways spokesperson said: “The temporary traffic management has been implemented for public safety, so Bellway Homes and their contractors can undertake Section 278 development works on the highway.

“Leicestershire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused during these works.”
