Times Past: Do you recognise faces in old Brownlow School photo?

This pic of the old Brownlow School in Melton, which used to be where the town's library now stands in Wilton Road, was taken between around 1955 and 1957 EMN-160429-131857001

Mr Shilham (69) came across the picture while going through the belongings of his late mother who died a few years ago. Aged eight or nine at the time, John is the pupil pictured third from the left on the back row.

With the help of some of the other former Brownlow pupils pictured he’s been able to put names to most of the faces but there are six that remain a mystery.

He said: “Most of the people in the picture still live in the town and I’m still in touch with about six or seven of them. The old Brownlow School used to be where the library is now.”
