The trailer, containing 10,000 litres of water, had overturned with water leaking from the tanker. It was also carrying 200 litres of weedkiller in drums but this wasn’t leaking.

The fire service was alerted to the incident at 9.41am. Two fire crews from Melton attended along with police and an ambulance. The fire service made the scene safe, with one male assessed by the ambulance service.

The tanker was allowed to drain into a field while a farmer arranged for the recovery of the vehicles.
