Social group raise £492 at fundrasier for Send a Cow

The group held a weekly raffle, played bingo and put on a competition to name the cow and win a bottle of sherry.

Group founder Linda Peters said: “We have been holding events to raise money since October.

“Melton Police force donated fifty pounds and Mrs Janet Key came and spoke to us about how the money will help the Send a Cow charity.

“In total we raised £492. For such a small group this was a very good result.”

Springfield Circle Friendship Group meet every Wednesday at the town’s Springfield Community Centre, at 2pm. New members are always welcomed.
