Scarecrows at Hickling had people in stitches of laughter
In gardens throughout the community legendary straw stuffed characters from the British comedy scene appeared for the village’s 16th annual scarecrow festival.
Some of the excellent figures on display included Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run, Only Fools and Horses characters and scenes from One Foot in the Grave and Fawlty Towers.

“Other attractions included a craft fair, street market, a fair and falconry.
“Most of the activities centred around the village hall and surrounding streets, however, the church was open for people to try bell ringing and climb the bell tower.
“Everyone absolutely loved going on the scarecrow trail and I saw lots of children screaming and laughing with excitement.”
The event raised funds for village groups and Alzheimer’s Society.
