Police station opens to public

MELTON Police station is being opened up to the public next month giving residents the chance to have a behind-the-scenes look around.

The open day is being held next Sunday (July 18), 10am-2pm. Visitors of all ages will be able to have a close-up look at a police car/van as well as other pieces of police equipment.

Youngsters will be able to have their fingerprints taken and visitors will also be able to have a look at the CCTV equipment, subject to their signing regarding data disclosure. Officers will also be on hand to speak to members of the public.

A similar open day event held in April attracted nearly 400 people.
