The centres have been closed for three months due to the latest lockdown.

But operators, Everyone Active, who manage the venues for Melton Borough Council, say they will be open to users again next week with strict operational safety measures in place.

Abigail Grewcock, Everyone Active’s contract manager, said: “We’re very much looking forward to reopening our centres and welcoming back the local community.

“Ensuring our colleagues and customers remain safe continues to be our number one priority and we have carefully considered the strict measures to ensure we adhere to the guidance.”

Aysha Rahman, the council’s assistant director for communities, said: “We are delighted that our leisure centres are reopening, and our residents are able to return to exercising in a leisure environment.

“Leisure centres play a significant role in supporting health and wellbeing.”

Activities should be booked in advance prior to attending the centres.
