Stathern Primary School ranked in top one per cent for reading, writing and mathematics skills

Stathern Primary School's 2016 key stage two assessments in reading, writing and mathematics have received ministerial recognition.

The Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for School Standards, has written to the school to congratulate the children.

His letter states that 100 per cent of pupils reached or exceeded the expected standards in all subjects placing the school in the top one per cent in England.

Head teacher Matthew Lee said: “We’re delighted to be recognised in the top one per cent of primary schools in the country. We feel our school offers pupils an exciting and inspiring curriculum alongside experiences that they will remember for many years to come.

“The dedication of the teaching staff and members of the local community in supporting the children is second to none and it’s a credit to all of them to have this recognition for their hard work.”
