Sherard pupils go on virtual world tour
The school was selected by Google to take part in previewing some of the corporation’s cutting-edge technology.
The Google Expeditions Programme allows teachers to take their classes on school trips around the world using kit comprising Google Cardboard virtual reality viewers and smartphones, a tablet, a wireless route and an app.

Hide AdSherard Primary School’s music co-ordinator Bradley Smith said: “Pupil’s learning in history, geography and science was enriched and brought to life.
“Year six visited Hawaii and saw Pearl Harbour, year five studied a variety of biomes and aninal habitats, year four travelled to Antarctica and year three explored Roman empires.
“The equipment was fantastic and we would urge other schools to try it.
“Because of how mega engaged our classes were we’ll be enquiring about purchasing some of Google’s smartphones and headsets to aid the children with their learning.”
