Two former students from a Ratcliffe-on-the-Wreake college are heading up an award-winning media production agency based on a classroom idea.

When Miles Latham and Tim Cabrelli left Ratcliffe College they teamed up to develop an idea that originated during school lessons.

Sixteen years later, Affixxius Films is now the media agency of choice for a stream of well known brands, including Boots, Sony, the NHS and Leicester City Football Club, and is just celebrating its latest contract with Nottingham’s T20 cricket team, Notts Outlaws.

And life seems to have come full circle for the entrepreneurs, who have also been invited to help put together a film about their former college.

Miles said: “Since 2012 we’ve worked on a number of high-impact campaigns with Trent Bridge and the Notts Outlaws, which has been huge source of pride for us.

“Now, as a commercial partner, we have collaborated on the club’s rebranding and latest kit launch video with Adidas.

“Seeing the Affixxius logo on the back of the shirts was a huge online and social media hit for us, especially after The Outlaws became T20 champions on finals day.”

Michael Temple, commercial director at Trent Bridge, said: “Our partnership with Affixxius is a great source of pride for everyone at Trent Bridge because we’ve spent 10 years now watching each other grow and we all feel entirely invested in the success of each other’s business.”

Ratcliffe College headmaster Jon Reddin said: “I am extremely proud of Miles and Tim and it is amazing seeing their business go from strength to strength.

“Ratcliffe’s ties with Affixxius run deep and these are set to become deeper as we come full circle and look at working together on an innovative school film this autumn.”
