The money was raised earlier in the year when over 100 riders and horses took part in a two hour sponsored ride over the beautiful Charnwood Forest countryside just outside Loughborough.

The ride began and finished at Roecliffe Hall, so it was an appropriate place to present the cheque as it’s also the home of Lee and Clare Cottingham. Having recently taken up the role of volunteer fundraiser for Rainbows Children’s Hospice, it was Clare’s idea to organise and host the sponsored ride.

Jo Jewell MFH from the Quorn Hunt said: “We’re delighted to help Rainbows who care for children and young people throughout the East Midlands. I’m very grateful to have received the co-operation of the many farmers and landowners who invited the ride over their land, plus the support of several generous local sponsors.”
