Plungar sales morning raises £250 for charity
Lots of people from across the Vale of Belvoir flocked to the village hall for a shopping, cake and cuppa sales morning in aid of Muscular Dystrophy and village church St Helen’s.
Stalls selling books, jewellery, children’s accessories and Mother’s Day cards were on display and a raffle was held.

The event also featured the launch of ‘Rags and Ribbons’ a new business ran by Barkestone mum Alex North, which sells handmade accessories for homes.
Organiser Laura Brudenell White said: “We raised over £250 with more money still to be counted from extra cake sales after the event.
“I wanted to raise funds to support the church which needs new heating and Muscular Dystrophy as someone in my extended family has been diagnosed with the condition.
“Other businesses who pitched stalls included Nottinghamshire based jewellers ‘Pretty & Bright’ and ‘Rutland Toy & Dance Boutique.’
“In the summer the village is looking to more charity events such as a children’s teddy picnic.”
