A small group of colleagues from Melton’s Tesco store in Thorpe Road fixed some of the fencing and guttering at the site which had fallen into disrepair.

Seven maintenance specialists visited the stables spending five hours securing the fields so that the horses were unable to escape. The team also supplied the sanctuary with a fridge.

Tesco area maintenance manager, Rob Peacock, said: “The work we carried out would of cost hundreds of pounds so we were delighted to help out Carole and all the staff at Pablo’s.”

Founder of Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary, Carole Fielding, said: “Thank you to Tesco who have helped us repair our fences after a long and wet winter. The work was urgently required and we are very grateful.”

Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary in Long Clawson is a registered charity that looks after horses and ponies whose owners either could not or would not look after them.
