The family-run business has been short listed for its Piedrop service, which was launched just last spring and now covers a huge slice of the Midlands - delivering 3,000 pies a week.

Brockleby’s, based in Melton Road, is among the finalists, representing the Midlands, in the online category of the 2021 Farm Shop & Deli Awards.

Piedrop was created by Brockleby’s managing director Ian Jalland as a franchise business that has quickly proved popular with customers of all ages.

The service now covers Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes - with Mr Jalland planning to add more areas in the near future.

He said: “It has been an incredible journey from inception of the franchise to operating at full capacity meaning we have expanded into new counties overnight to meet demand.

“Brockleby’s is delighted to be serving our local community with a convenient, reliable and safe delivery service.

“The positive feedback we receive from our pie-loving community is heartwarming and receiving this award would be a testament to the hard work and creativity of my team especially in challenging circumstances.”

The winners of the awards will be announced on July 5 at the Farm Shop and Deli Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
