More of the proceeds from last year's Mayor's Appeal have been handed out to Leicestershire and Rutland Emmaus.

A total of £2,402,20 was presented to the charity which was raised during Councillor Jeanne Douglas’s 2015-2016 year of office.

Mir Juma accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity which gives homes to people who have experienced homelessness.

The Belvoir Cricket and Countryside Trust was also a recipient of monies from the Mayor. The charity was presented with its cheque at a similar presentation last month.
