Melton man to climb world's tallest free-standing mountain in little girl's memory to aid fight against meningitis

Jason Hall (41) will be among an 18-strong group trekking to the top of the world’s tallest free-standing mountain next month to raise funds for Georgie’s Gift – a charity set up in memory of his friend and work colleague’s 23-month-old daughter who died last year of meningococcal septicaemia.
Georgie’s Gift raises awareness of the signs and symptoms of meningitis and septicaemia, as well as advising families and supporting children who have survived meningitis but been left with a disability. The charity has also raised funds for the Meningitis Research Foundation.

He’ll be climbing Kilimanjaro from October 15 (11 days up and down) and is aiming to raise £3,500 for Georgie’s Gift.
Jason’s training has included back-to-back Mount Snowdon climbs, other climbs in Derbyshire and Yorkshire and treks in America.
He said: “Climbing Kilimanjaro is probably the toughest thing I’ve ever done but I’m prepared to push myself to the absolute limit. We want to help as much as we can, raising funds as well as awareness of meningitis.
