Melton firm eSynergy wins National Recycling Award recognising its innovative system
The firm, which has an office and facility at the Asfordby Business Park, won the award for innovative WEEE solutions involving mechanical recycling and thermal conversion of composite materials.
Chief executive officer Sean Allinson-Bulman and operations director Kevin Bush picked up the honour at the National Recycling Awards ceremony in London on July 6.

Mr Allinson-Bulman said he was more than a little lucky to have teamed up with Harworth Estates whose support for sustainable environmental businesses enabled him to realise the project. In 2014 he struggled to find a suitable site, as few landlords were welcoming of waste operations, but Harworth appreciated his vision for modern technology and processes treating waste as a valuable resource.
He added: “It’s hard to think where else this project could have happened. Not only have our landlords been great, but the county council has been very helpful on planning and the Environment Agency has been extremely supportive in providing guidance and advice. We have also received encouragement and guidance on innovation funding from Melton Council.
“Everyone we have met in Leicestershire has been positive and encouraging and it means so much to a young company like ours to collect this award.”
