Melton cinema friends raise thousands of pounds for cancer charity
Staff and friends at Melton Mowbray’s cinema have made a great start in their quest to raise nearly £3k for a cancer charity.
Co-owners of The Regal, Jacob and Bryony Mundin, will be joined by Jess, Evie, Willah, Bea, Jagoda, Saira, Skye, Connie and Lauren in taking on the Mighty Hike in Northumberland on September 6.

And they’ve already started raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support with a series of activities, including an Oscars Quiz, two bake sales, a book sale and a Mario Quiz, where contestants can win two free tickets for the cinema and a keyring.
The aim is to raise at least £2,750 for Macmillan – a charity close to many of their hearts – and they’ve already raised £2,000 towards the target.

Bryony told the Melton Times: “Several of the staff have, or have had, parents who have battled cancer and all of us know at least one person who has fought cancer, so it's a charity we feel strongly about supporting.
“It's prompted some of our customers to tell us their cancer stories and how Macmillan have helped them too.”
Macmillan Cancer Support organises a number of Mighty Hikes across the UK. The Northumberland one The Regal guys are taking on will see them walk along the north-east coast of England, starting at Alnwick Castle and passing along beaches and fishing villages before finishing at Bamburgh Castle.
It’s going to be a gruelling challenge and Bryony added: “We'll be doing some practice walks in the lead up to the big day.”
