Melton Aurora Rotary Club's market stall raises £300 for End Polio Now campaign

Members of the Melton Aurora Rotary Club recently sold purple crocus bulbs on the market in support of Rotary International's End Polio Now campaign.

The stall in Market Place raised £300 from the sale of corms, teddies and purple crocus lapel badges.

Activities for children and adults were also organised and schools in the Melton area were able to get involved with the campaign by planting bulbs.

The winner of the crocus corms was Mrs Bailey of Cranmer Road and the campaign teddy was won by Mrs Torbettt.

All three local Rotary clubs - which are Melton Rotary Club, Belvoir Rotary Club and Melton Aurora Rotary Club - have been working together on the campaign.

Melton Aurora Rotary Club have organised a night of frog racing demonstrations tomorrow, to raise club funds.

The evening at Scalford Village Hall starts from 7.30pm and includes a hot meal.
