Motorists will be unable to use both Burton Street and Dalby Road for extended periods while the carriageway is repaired by council work teams.

Burton Street will be closed for four days, from the Ankle Hill turning to the junction with Market Place, from Tuesday March 16 to Friday March 19.

The Burton Street access to Mill Street will also be closed to traffic during this period.

HGV drivers are being advised to follow a diversion along the A606, A1 and A607, and vice versa, during the works.

And Dalby Road will be closed on two consecutive weekends, on March 13/14 and 20/21.

The road will be closed between the Warwick Road turning and the junction with the A607 on both weekends.

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to the closures to allow the essential work to be completed and says it apologises for any disruption caused.
