All of gentle-hearted Nuke’s food, veterinary costs and ongoing care will be provided by Woodside Animal Centre but he needs an experienced, adult-only, pet-free home to live out his remaining life.

A spokeswoman for the centre said: “It brings us great pain to say that there has been a change of plan in our quest to find Nuke a forever home.

Due to this, we are now looking for a long-term foster home for Nuke, whilst he still has a good quality of life.”

She added: “Despite his size, Nuke is one of the most loving, gentle hearted and endearing dogs we have had the pleasure of meeting here at Woodside.

“He is very friendly and loves to play, he is very much a bull in a china shop and sofa snuggles are a must.
