Deadline for Ragdale funding applications extended by a week
We have had nearly 60 applications for a share of this year’s £10k Ragdale Hall Community Chest and we’ve decided to extend the deadline by a week to ensure to others can make a request.
All applications must now be in by 4pm on Thursday May 14 and after that our judges will sit down to address the tricky task of allocating the funds to worthy causes.

The fund is open to charities, community groups, sports clubs and schools based in Melton Mowbray or surrounding villages.
Birch Wood Area Special School in Melton would like £500 to create inclusive communication and regulation packs for local businesses, community venues and emergency services in the town.

This project would involve working collaboratively with local cafés, restaurants, pubs, shops and other community spaces to develop symbolised menus, communication boards, visual supports and regulation resources to enable people with communication difficulties and additional needs to access services.
The volunteers at Melton Matters Wombles want £500 to help pay for a skip which is used to store crushed cans which are then sold for scrap with the proceeds being donated to the local Air Ambulance charity.
An application for £500 has come in from the PTA at Asfordby Captain’s Close Primary School to buy four to five ‘balance bikes’ for pupils to improve their balance, co-ordination and safety while riding.
To apply, email [email protected] telling us what your organisation does, how much you would like (up to a maximum £500), what the money will be spent on and how many individuals it will benefit.
