Deadline approaching to nominate young person for county awards
Time is running out to nominate a Leicestershire teenager you believe has achieved something inspirational in the last 12 months.
Contenders for this year's Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire’s Young Person of the Year Award can be put forward up until February 13 in one of four categories – Young Person of Courage, Young Volunteer, Young Leader, and Young Artist.

Anyone can nominate a young person aged 13 to 19 in the city or county for an award, and family, friends, teachers, and other professionals and community leaders are being urged to nominate someone.
Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Mike Kapur OBE CStJ, said: “This annual award event is an opportunity for us all to come together to recognise the individual talents of our young people and the celebrate the outstanding contributions they make to their local communities.
“As Lord-Lieutenant I am privileged to meet so many fantastic young people across the city and county, but without your support and insightful nominations these awards simply cannot take place.
“The award categories are intended to highlight the bravery, creativity, strength of spirit and selflessness of our young people.
"So, I and my judging panel are once again asking you to help us find the most inspiring young people aged 13 to 19 across the city and county. We look forward to hearing about the remarkable efforts of our young people.”
Nominees must be living or attending full-time education in Leicester or Leicestershire.
