Coronavirus: Syston children’s entertainer offering personalised video messages through tough times

For around the last four years or so, Aimee Nicole Harrison, 33, has been running Aimee’s Princess Parties and has been entertaining children dressed as Snow Queen Elsa from the Disney film Frozen and more recently other characters.

Now, to avoid her young audience across the Midlands being disappointed, Aimee is offering personalised video messages for £15.

On how it works, she said: “I ask the parent or guardian certain questions about the child they want the message for; i.e their name, favourite colour, favourite food, favourite film, what’s the purpose of the message etc, so the video is really personal to them. I then record the video within a certain time frame and send it to them via WhatsApp.

“It’s been so well received that I’m now thinking about offering live video chats.

“The idea came about because I had seen a friend of mine posting on Facebook that she had had her bags packed ready to take her four-year-old son to Disneyland for his birthday and the trip was cancelled. I felt awful! So I asked her if she would like a video from the Snow Queen to try and cheer him up a bit.

“I get incredible satisfaction in making children smile. The photos parents have sent to me of their children watching the videos are just absolutely priceless. One photo even brought a tear to my eye, it made me realise what I’m bringing to the children at this difficult time.

“When I do my parties, I sing and sign in Makaton Sign Language, so I decided to put tutorial videos on my page to help entertain and educate the children now that they are no longer in school.

“The first video I posted was ‘Let It Go’ and it’s already had over 10,000 views!
