Coronavirus: Mobile testing unit sets up near Melton

The service is at Loughborough and is operating on an appointment only basis.

Social care workers and NHS staff are eligible for tests, as are symptomatic over 65s and their families, plus employees having to leave home for work.

The unit in Loughborough is one of 100 mobile coronavirus testing units which are travelling across the country to areas where there is high demand for tests, or where it is difficult for people to go to their nearest regional drive-through site.

Test results will be returned within 48 hours of swabs being taken.

Other testing sites have been set up at Grantham, Birstall and Hinckley.
