Mr Faulkner lost his role as councillor for Melton Egerton in May’s local elections and he will again be standing as an Independent for the Asfordby ballot, on Thursday November 2.

Margaret Clay is running for election in the ward for Labour, after losing out in the elections in the Frisby ward.

Chris Gray is the Conservative candidate in Asfordby hoping to strengthen the Tory group, which lost control of the council in May.

The other person up for election is Issy Taylor for the Green Party.

Ms Taylor will be aiming to succeed her fellow Green member, Charlie Pitt-Miller, who resigned in September due to ill health after suffering a fall while abroad.

Ms Pitt-Miller was serving in Asfordby alongside Steven Carter after both of them were elected at the recent borough council elections.
