Bottesford teenager's head shave raises £1,400 for Teenage Cancer Trust

Kelsie Claricoats (17), has a new look in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust and has also donated her long locks to the Little Princess Trust, which provides free wigs to children who have lost their own hair to chemotherapy.

The teenager had her hair cut at The Bull Inn, in Bottesford on Saturday night infront of friends and family.

Kelsie said: “The night at the start was such a positive one, but as it progressed I went through a whirlwind of emotions, but by the end of the shave, I understood how proud everyone was of me and what I had done was a good thing!

“I probably wouldn’t have the guts to do it again, but I am so happy with the money I have raised.

“I want to say thank you for everyone who donated but also everyone who turned up on the night and made it a positive evening.”

Kelsie’s parents Sue and Simon Claricoats said: “We are so proud of our beautiful daughter for shaving her long locks to raise money for this worthwhile charity. Thank you to everyone who turned up to support her.”

Kelsie has set herself a target of £1,500 and is still welcoming donations online.
