NEWSFLASH: Man, 36, arrested after incident at Melton railway bridge causes travel chaos

A 36-year-old man has been arrested by police this morning (Friday) on suspicion of causing a public nuisance after an incident at the Dalby Road railway bridge in Melton.

Police have now lifted all road closures which had been put in place while the incident was dealt with. It has also caused disruption to train services between Leicester/Nottingham and Peterborough, with customers warned of delays and cancellations.

A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: “We were called at 6.30am to a report of a man on the railway bridge. We attended the scene and the man is now safe.
