It meets quarterly and brings together people and organisations with a commitment to improving equality outcomes across Leicestershire.

Its remit includes the assessment of equality implications for specific services such as day care services, county-wide transport and charges for care services.

LECG is chaired by Colin Norman and members include organisations such as Healthwatch, The Race Equality Centre, Leicester Council of Faiths, LGBT Centre, Leicester and Rutland Minority Ethnic Forum as well as smaller networks which support gypsy and traveller communities, mental health services and carers.

Melton-based county councillor Pam Posnett will officially launch the website at a reception in the Sparkenhoe Room at County Hall between 1pm and 2pm, where there will be an opportunity to meet LECG members and hear about the work and achievements of the group.
