Hide AdMelton firefighter and treasurer of the Trumpton committee Scott Smith said remaining funds would be used to make donations throughout the year as well as some being spent on necessary work on the Trumpton engine.
He said: “We really want to thank all the residents who donated this year. If they didn’t give any money then it wouldn’t work.”
Mo Jackson, of the Crafty Ladies of Melton Mowbray, said: “We’d like to send a very big thank you to Trumpton for our fantastic donation which means we won’t have to carry loads of equipment back and forth each week and we will have funds to make things for local groups.
“We had a great night on Friday and it was uplifting to see so many local causes benefit from Trumpton’s hard work.”
