Melton Times letter: '˜We don't recycle enough' says Stathern pupil

I am writing to you to complain about the lack of recycling.

First of all, saying our recycling is bad is an understatment and it is unacceptable to throw cans out of a car window. Litter to your left, rubbish to your right. Here are two reasons why our recyling is terrible. Did you know we could fill lake Windermere with our rubbish every eight months. Don’t people realise that twenty five pop bottles can be turned into an adult size jacket?

Secondly, could your conscience cope with rubbish flooding landfill sites?

Did you not know that 60 per cent of rubbish can be reused, recycled or composted? Ever thought about making your own compost? You only need to follow three simple steps; Firstly, you need a compost bin. Secondly, fill it up with fruit, vegetables, tea bags and cereal and egg boxes. Finally, relax for nine months and you will have lavish compost ready for re-using.

My judgement is wise and I do not want to see my world suffer. I hope you agree!
