Leaders from the 4th Melton Mowbray Scout Group will run the classes at their base, at the bottom of Wilton Road car park on Saturday, July 9.

There will be four one-hour courses, offered free of charge and on a first come, first served basis.

Organisers Tom Hazeldine and Rebecca Watts said: “On the day we will be offering one hour sessions for people to participate in, teaching you the recovery position, CPR and how to deal with choking.

“This is a free event which will teach some of the basics of first aid and because of this we must stress this it is not a full first aid course and a certificate will not be issued.”

The classes will run at 10am to 11am, 11am to 12noon, 1pm to 2pm and 2pm to 3pm. Numbers are capped at 30.
