Melton man and woman injured in motorcycle collision at Denton

A motorcycle came off the road at Denton on Saturday, injuring the rider and pillion passenger.

Emergency services were called to the junction of the A607 with the village just after 1.30pm.

The rider, a 46-year-old man from Melton Mowbray, sustained chest and shoulder injuries and was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham by air ambulance.

The pillion passenger, a 49-year-old woman also from Melton Mowbray, sustained minor injuries and did not need hospital treatment.

The road was closed for a brief time, reopening fully at 2.45pm.
