Melton dentists urges NHS patients to register and to get their teeth checked regularly

A Melton dentist is urging residents to register for NHS dental treatment after seeing a surge in the number of patients who had not seen a dentist for five years or more.

The British Dental Health Foundation revealed that people who visit the dentist annually reduce their risk of tooth decay by 60 per cent. Research also highlighted that 31 per cent of adults have tooth decay and 29 per cent suffer from regular dental pain.

Anneka Harris, practice manager at mydentist on Asfordby Road, said: “We see the impact on patients’ teeth if they don’t visit the dentist regularly and we have NHS places available so there’s no reason for people in the town not to register and receive regular treatment and no reason to delay a check-up.”
