Around half a dozen classic cars rolled into town on Friday for a special-one-off vintage vehicle evening held in Melton's Market Place.

And they proved to be a big hit with the public who turned up in droves, to enjoy a walk down memory lane, as Triumphs, Morris Minors and Rolls Royce’s made for a spectacular spectacle.

There was also a bar, food, music by the band Baker’s Treat and community radio station 103 The Eye attended.

One of the organisers Nigel Keep said: “The evening was a great success despite the wet weather early evening.

“There was some great live music and plenty of good-looking cars.”

A bank holiday special vintage classic car night is also set to take place on Friday.

The event will be held in the Market Place from 5pm. This time local band The Detours will be playing, in addition to the usual entertainment, food and bar.
